Weighing Hopper

The weighing hopper is a pre opening machine that is used in component dependent blending systems . Simplified could be said, that the number of weighing hoppers is identical with the number of components that should be blended. The weighing hoppers could be equipped with a weighpan or a volumetric chute with weigh belt.

Both of the weigh systems have the same purpose, - that is to control and to monitor the component dependent blending -, but the throughput per hour is different. Bales of natural or synthetic fibres can be preopened.

Both weigh hopper systems are equipped with a vertical, - slightly inclined -, spiked lattice and two opening rollers. The speed of the lattice is infinitely variable. The gap between both opening rollers and the spiked apron is also adjustable.

The machine is fed by an small feed table, but it can be optional equipped with an extended feed table in front of the machine to relieve the personell.

Fibre bales are transported by the feed table towards the spiked lattice. The fibre material gets a first opening, and is being taken upwards to the front opening roller. The surplus of fibre material that cannot pass the gap between front opening roller and lattice is beeing slipped off and thrown back onto the feed table where it will be transported towards the lattice again.

Design with Weigh Pan
At the downwards movement of the spiked apron in the backpart of the machine, the opened fibre material is stripped off by the second opening roller into a weigh pan. The weight of the fibres in the pan are monitored and compared with the pre- set weight. Short time before the pre set weight is reached the spiked lattice slows down until it stops at correct weight in the pan. The weigh pan opens and the fibre material drops onto a crosswise arranged collecting belt.

Design with volumetric chute + Weigh belt
At the downwards movement of the spiked apron in the backpart of the machine, the opened fibre material is stripped off by the second opening roller into volumetric chute. The fibre is slightly compressed by the oscillating movement of the back wall, passes the deflecting roller and is given to the conveyor belt in a regular "web".

The small conveyor transports the fibre material to a weigh belt system, where the weight of fibre material is continuously compared with the pre- set production rate. Weight differences are balanced by speed adjustment and / or by adaption of the oscillating frequency. After the material has passed the weigh control system it drops onto a crosswise arranged collecting belt.

The number of drops respectively the speed, is monitored in both systems by an central microprocessor depending on the number and percentages of fibre components. The user of the system has only feed the central microprocessor with the "receipt" of the blend.
