Weigh Belt

Weigh Belt

Weigh Belt
The Weigh Belt has been designed for a continuous weighing process of opened fibre material and fulffills the following scope of duties:

  • Continuous weighing
  • Compensation of weight variations
  • Target weight control - Stop of production
The weigh belt is mostly used in the component dependent blending system, card feeding or production of nonwovens.

It basically consists of the following components:

  • 4 Load cells
  • Transilon belt
  • ac drive, adjustable
The strain gauge loadcells are mechanical- electrical converters. The basic element is a spring body which deforms elastically when fibre passes the weigh belt. This weight causes the integrated strain gauges to change their resistance.

The resulting changes in the output voltage are proportional to the weight on the belt.

The incorporated conveying belt is protected against lateral displacement and fibre penetration. It is driven by a helical gear motor, and inverter controlled. Lateral walls ensure a support of fibre material.

Function:

The preopened fibre material on the weigh belt is monitored constantly by the 4 load cells. In an preset cycle the weighing results are added up and the average weight is calculated by a microprocessor. The average weight is compared with the pre- set production weight and in case of variations the microprocessor regulates the feed rate to ensure a uniform feeding with fibre material.

Supply conveyor, weigh belt and intake belt of the following machine are running at the same speed to prevent miss readings caused by fibre delay or fibre upset. The speed of the weigh belt is inverter controlled and can be adjusted to meet your production line specifications.

Advantages:
  • Precise fibre supply to subsequent machinery
  • Rapid weigh control at batch change
  • Reduction of downtime
  • Easy to operate
  • Data recording for quality assurance
