The
Hopper feeder is used for uniform feeding of subsequent machinery like card,
dryer for example.
The main components of the machine are as following: - Feed chute + storage box (optional) - Intake table - Spiked lattice sheet - Front and back opening roller - Vibrating chute - Fibre collection belt - Weigh belt (optional) - Dislodging unit (optional) Working principle: Fibre material is fed onto the intake table of the hopper feeder either by hand or feed chute. The intake table conveys the preblended fibre material towards the slightly inclined spiked lattice. The speed of the lattice is infinitely variable. The gap between both opening rollers and the spiked apron is also adjustable. The fibre material gets a first opening, and is being taken upwards to the front opening roller. The surplus of fibre material that cannot pass the gap between front opening roller and lattice is beeing slipped off and thrown back onto the feed table where it will be transported towards the lattice again. At the downwards movement of the spiked apron in the backpart of the machine, the opened fibre material is stripped off by the second opening roller into a vibrating chute underneath. The depth of the vibrating device is infinitely variable by hand wheel. Preliminary election of the depth is corresponding to the desired thickness, weight and density of the fibre mat. The oscillating frequency of the backwall is regulated by frequency inverter . Although it is possible to choose four different strokes with different width to get a wide range of precompression settings. A level control that works across the complete working width of the machine ensures an even distribution of the fibre material in the vibrating chute. The backwall of the unit is oscillating all the time to achieve a precompression and evenness of fibre material. A deflection roller at the front wall guides the fibre material from vertical to horicontal direction onto the conveyor belt underneath. The speed of the belt is equal to the speed of the subsequent machinery. The fibre mat is beeing taken over by a weigh belt. The preset weight is monitored and compared with the actual weight on the belt. Differences from weight will be compensated by increasing or decreasing the speed of the vibrating unit and / or the speed of the conveying belt. The Hopper feeder can be equipped with a dislodging unit , to enable easy access for cleaning and maintenance . |
